Orchard Bundle Box
The Orchard Bundle Box season: April - end of August
The Masonic Village Farm Market has introduced this program to help you and your families eat healthier. Experience has taught us that our families eat less junk food if healthy produce is readily available. The Orchard Bundle Box will make it quick and convenient for you to stock your refrigerator with wholesome local produce every week.
Dear Orchard Bundle Box customer,
The Orchard Bundle Box program is suspended for 2023. We look forward to offering this program again in the future. Please visit the Farm Market at 310 Eden View Road on Friday, Saturday or Sunday to enjoy the same fresh items we offer in the Bundle Box.
This is what we have planned for the next Orchard Bundle Box. Please be advised, there may be some last minute adjustments that are required once the produce is harvested since Mother Nature is in control.

Orchard Bundle Box FAQs:
-
Here’s how this simple system works:
Each week you place your order by phone or on our website. Pay by check or credit card. The next week you pick up your box as you leave your workplace. Place the items in your refrigerator and just like that; healthy produce is available for the whole family. Remember... 5 servings a day keeps the doctor away. -
When do I need to order?
We will accept orders each week before 7:00 a.m. Monday. Your box will be delivered to a convenient pickup location at your workplace by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. -
What’s the cost?
For only $25.00 you will receive between 15 and 20 pieces of farm fresh produce. We estimate that it would cost you 20%-40% more to purchase the same amount of produce in the grocery store. Delivery is free. -
What’s in the box?
The items in the box will change as the seasons change. Once you have ordered your first box, we will email you each Friday to give you an idea of what will be included in the following week’s box. We will include recipes and some history on the items in the box. Our goal is to provide you with the freshest produce possible. In many cases the items in your box were hanging on plants only hours before they were delivered. The box size is designed for a week’s worth of healthy snacks and meals for 2-4 people. We think you will be surprised how fast it disappears. Half shares are not available. We would encourage you to share with a coworker if you think the box is too large. On the other hand, if you find it’s not enough, feel free to order more than one box.
Here’s what a box may look like: 2 Gala apples, 2 Ginger Gold apples, 2 Honeycrisp apples, 2 Bartlett pears, bag of baby carrots, 2 tomatoes, 1 pineapple, 4 bananas, 1 bunch of grapes, and a bag of yogurt covered sweet cherries. You will also see items during the year like peaches, nectarines, plums, apricots, cherries, kiwi, strawberries, blueberries, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, cabbage, squash, cucumbers, snow peas, cantaloupe, sweet corn, lettuces, beets, turnips, potatoes, and much more. -
Is the produce local and organic?
The tree fruit like apples, peaches, apricots, plums, cherries and pears that come from our farm are grown using a sustainable Integrated Pest Management (IPM) system.
In addition to our tree fruit, we gather vegetables from 7 growers around Elizabethtown. Some of them are chemical free and some are low input. Because of their small size, none of these growers pay the $5000 annual fee to be inspected so they can use the “Certified Organic” label. We have had a working relationship with these growers for over 20 years, and we fully trust the methods they use.
During the early season when local produce is scarce, we purchase vegetables from southern growers. Everything in the box is collected from growers in the USA with the exception of bananas and pineapples. In the early spring there will be items from GAP certified growers from as far south as Florida. More info on GAP certification (Good Agricultural Practices) can be found online. We get our produce as local as possible as soon as possible by working our way up the eastern seaboard. For example... the tomatoes and berries come from Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, Delaware, Maryland and as soon as they are available from Lancaster County. -
What if my family doesn’t like something?
There are no substitutions on the produce being offered. We encourage you to find someone to give your undesired item to. -
What is the order deadline?
Orders must be placed before 7:00 AM Monday for delivery on Thursday. -
Do I have to subscribe for a whole season?
No. Orders are taken on a weekly basis. Order by Monday for delivery on Thursday. Feel free to skip a week or order for multiple weeks at one time or order for the whole season. -
What time will the boxes be ready?
Boxes will be available at the designated location by Thursday at 2:00 PM. Each box will be labeled with the subscriber’s name. When you are ready to leave for the day, look for your name, pick up your box and be on your way. Bring back your empty box each week and leave it at the pick up location and we will reuse them. We recommend you pick up your boxes by 6:00 PM to prevent spoilage. Please ask someone else to pick up your box or notify us 24 hours in advance if you cannot pick up your box. It is not necessary to notify us that you will have a proxy.
There are no refunds for unclaimed boxes. Unclaimed produce will be donated to a local food bank. -
Is this available all year?
For 2020 we will be offering pick up days from April 2nd through August 27th. -
What if I’m not satisfied with something?
The same guarantee applies with Orchard Bundle Box as at the Masonic Village Farm Market: We offer a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee. If for whatever reason you are dissatisfied with your produce, we will be happy to offer you a replacement or full refund. Orders may be placed online via the links below or by calling the Farm Market at 717-361-4520, or email us at farmmarket@masonicvillages.org. -
